Volunteer Requirements
Having a group of creative, committed, driven and passionate volunteers is essential to keeping the wheels of rescue turning. We value and respect everyone who gives of their time to help our rescue to grow and save lives. Please review the following requirements to see if volunteering is a fit for you!
Age
All volunteers must be age 18 or over and must fill out a volunteer application prior to participation in any event with CK Animal Rescue. All Volunteer participation is subject to the exclusive discretion of CK Animal Rescue.
Youth volunteers must be between the ages of 15 – 18. They may fill out an application, sign a code of conduct agreement and have a parent/guardian sign a release on their behalf.
Youth volunteers under the age of 15 may participate provided that they have a parent or legal guardian, who is an approved volunteer, in attendance with them.
Documentation
There are several documents that must be completed and submitted prior to being approved as a volunteer and participating in events.
- Police check – this can be obtained at your local police headquarters for a minimal non-refundable fee
Agreements to be signed
- Volunteer Confidentiality Agreement
- Volunteer Code of Conduct
- Volunteer Statement of Agreement/General Release or Waiver
All forms will be maintained in the volunteer file.
FAQ’s:
Can I obtain community service hours certification?
Yes! Any volunteers needing certification for required community service hours must present all forms to the Volunteer Coordinator or assigned member of the executive board prior to the start of their volunteer engagement. Signed forms will be returned at the completion of required service hours and will be subject to the approval of CK Animal Rescue.
Is there a minimum time commitment when I sign up?
As a volunteer, you are required to participate in at least four activities and/or events within the year to be considered an active volunteer. Of course, you are always welcome to participate MORE!
What types of activities are available to volunteers?
The list is ENDLESS. From transporting rescue animals to office work, kitty cuddlers to adoption events, baking cookies to brainstorming fundraisers. No matter your skill set, there are a variety of ways that you can help!
How often do you hold events?
CK Animal Rescue typically participates in and hosts events at least monthly. Our types of events vary and the list is growing with the participation of creative minds and ambitious members. Some of the events we have done in the past include Adoption Events in stores, fun outdoor events (seasonally), night on the town events like a Comedy Show and a Murder Mystery Dinner.
