Volunteer With Us!
Chatham Kent Animal Rescue is comprised of volunteers who share their time and passion to make a difference in the lives of hundreds of dogs. Many of our volunteers are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, grandmas and grandpas, aunts and uncles – many work full-time, part-time, attend school or are retired. Each volunteer shares one thing in common – their love of the dogs and cats in our rescue!
If you are unable to foster a dog you can still be a big part of our rescue by volunteering with us. Here are some ways you can help:
- Be a rescue transporter
- Help move dogs from foster homes to vet appointments, or to adoptive homes
- Collect dog food and supplies from donors
- Join our rescue to help at events
- We participate in many events throughout the year and we are always looking for friendly people to help
- Raise funds which goes toward the vetting and care of the dogs and cats in our rescue
- Spread the word – Let people know about our rescue!
If you are interested in one or several of our volunteer opportunities fill out our online Volunteer Application. The pay is terrible but the rewards are life-changing!
Can’t foster or adopt? No problem, join our team of volunteers and make a difference today! A recent Police Check is required for all volunteer members.
Our volunteers are the best!
Currently available opportunities:
Website Developer – We are looking for someone to help create and maintain our website. Reach out if this is something you are interested in.
Home visit volunteers – help is always needed in all of our areas (Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, Sarnia-Lambton and beyond) to assist with home visits for adoption and foster applicants. Orientation and training provided.
Adoption/Fundraising Events – we are always looking for volunteers to help out at our many events. If you love meeting new people and talking about all of the amazing things that rescue can accomplish…this is right up your alley.
Transporting – occasionally we send adoptable dogs/cats to East Village Animal Hospital (EVAH) in London – an amazing organization that helps with low-cost spay/neuter. Drivers who are able to safely take our precious rescues to and from these appointments are needed.
