We only accept applications from Chatham Kent, Sarnia, London, Windsor and points within these boundaries. Requirements: secure, fenced yard, no children under 10, no apartment, best as an only dog Breed: Bichon Sex: Male Age: 8 years Weight: 22 lbs. Size: Small Fur: Short, curly and non shedding Colour of fur: White with a bit of apricot Chucky is a sweet little fellow with a great appetite for life. He is very focused on his people and will nestle close to you indoors or out. Bonus...Chucky is a non shedder! He has excellent manners, is curious but respectful of his home, is housetrained, sleeps through the night, is not a door dasher, only barks to alert you of strangers or at the squirrels, appears to have no or little separation anxiety, knows sit and come commands and to top it all, travels well in cars. He can be possessive at times, but relaxes when given a little space. Chucky is perfect on walks; he actually anticipates a change of direction by the slightest movement of the leash. He will play tug-of-war with his toys and loves meeting new people, especially if they have a scent of another animal on them. Being people orientated, he does not interact with other dogs very much and although he is curious about cats and tends to bark at them and run after them, he does not seem to want to hurt them. We do not know how he is with children. He does have a very loud bark, so no apartments for this boy. This independent. sensitive boy won't be constantly begging for your attention, as he enjoys his alone time. He will come to you when heâs ready for his people. He loves a good back rub and will strike up a conversation with you to let you know how much he enjoys it. The best home for Chucky would be on his own, in a house with someone who happily indulges his love of walks and who will fuss over him while giving him his space. He could live with another, independent dog but does not need to. If you are interested in Chucky, just submit his application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Chucky is neutered, microchipped and up to date with his vaccinations. Adoption fee: $350
NOTE: Applications are accepted from Chatham Kent only for this dog REQUIREMENTS : a secure fenced yard, no children under 10 years, a home with another playful dog of similar age Breed: Shih Tzu Size: Small Weight: 12.9 lbs Age: 3 years Sex: Male Colour: White and Red Length of Fur: Medium Activity: Medium Introducing Pouchie! He is a very happy little boy who absolutely loves to play! He is nervous when meeting new people and takes a bit of time to warm up, but once he gets to know you, he is quite comfortable. He will snuggle on his own terms, he is an independent little guy. Pouchie loves walks and car rides, sitting calmly on the seat enjoying the scenery. He loves to run and chew on ropes, bones and any stuffed toy. He is a playful little one! He would enjoy someone who is often home as he loves attention and he needs to have another young playful dog he connects with to enjoy those high energy playtimes. Pouchie feels he needs to protect his foster family so he is learning that is not acceptable behaviour to growl at people walking by. This is a work in progress. Pouchie has met many dogs of all sizes and gets along with many of them. He plays with the resident lab mix. Every day is running at full speed and they nap bum to bum together on the couch. He can be picky with who he chooses to buddy up to and spend his time so any meet and greet will determine if there is a love connection with this little guy. He loves to run and play chase with his canine friends, then settle together for a nap. Pouchie has a bit of food aggression...not with people but with other dogs so he is fed separately. Pouchie has not been exposed to cats. If you are interested in adopting our sweet Pouchie, please submit the Adoption Application at www.ckanimalrescue.com. Adoption fee is $350. Pouchie is microchipped, neutered and up to date with his vaccinations.
Requirements: Home with a secure fenced yard, children 10 and older, no other dog is best, We accept applications from Chatham Kent, London, Sarnia, Windsor or anywhere within these boundaries. Breed: Scruffy terrier mix Age: 7 years old Weight: 15 lbs. Okay with spayed female dogs and neutered male dogs Good with cats Activity level: Low activity indoors, medium activity outdoors Loki is a sweet, little white and beige scruffy terrier mix. He is understandably timid when he first meets people as he was not treated well in his previous home. He takes a bit to warm up but once he knows you are a good person, he will be your friend for life! He loves attention....being petted, having his ears scratched and will lie on his back for belly rubs. He likes to be with his person so will follow you around the house and at bedtime happily sleeps with his person. Loki is a chatterbox at times. He will talk to you when he wants something. It is a very cute little whine, howl conversation. He sounds so intensely immersed in the conversation with you, all you can do is laugh. Loki has curly fur on his body and a terrier scruffy face. He will require grooming to keep him looking his best. He is not the best at the groomers as his former owners didnât take him to be groomed. Loki is good while playing with some dogs if no toys are involved. He is now learning how to share toys. He likes to play with your hands, very gently putting his mouth on them. He also enjoys chewing on stuffed toys. Please be careful taking his toy away from him as his previous owner teased him terribly so Loki is just learning that you will give it back. Loki is now learning that people can be good and kind. This little guard dog will briefly bark at new people coming into the house but stops after an introduction. He is house trained and does not chew on things except his toys. He is respectful of his home so is not crated and has full run in the house when his fosters are out. He does bark when left alone but also will settle down fairly quickly. He loves to bounce around in a fenced yard sniffing everything. He is eager to go for walks but does pull a little on leash for the first few minutes then settles down. Loki is not a fan of car rides as he has not been shown that car rides are a good adventure. He is improving with every ride he takes. He is now quiet on a car ride for about 30 minutes now, then he will get a bit antsy. Loki wishes for a home with people who will take him for walks, have a fenced yard and will spend all the time in the world with him. His needs are simple...regular grooming, good food and lots of affection...preferably with someone who is often home. For further information on Loki, his foster mom would be happy to answer any questions you might have. If you have the loving home Loki deserves, please submit his application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Loki is neutered, microchipped, up to date with his vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $350
Requirements: secure fenced yard with direct access from the house, another dog of similar size, energy level and age, children over 10, NO other small animals recommended, Experience with the shepherd breed We accept applications from Chatham Kent, London, Sarnia, Windsor or anywhere within these boundaries. Name: Evee Breed: German Shepherd Gender: female DOB: July 2018 Weight: around 75 lbs UTD on shots? yes Good with cats? Okay with Does animal ride well in car? yes Are you looking for a dog who is all puppy? Evee is a very young, sweet, big girl who was not taught much during the first few months of her life. After that she was crated to eliminate the need for training. Once introduced, she likes most people and shows it with kisses. She loves attention and belly rubs. She also likes her back scratched, ears rubbed, talked to and cuddled. Evee is young and has lots of energy. Like any puppy she gets bored easily. Please remember boredom can cause a dog to be destructive. She adores being outside and running around in a secure fenced yard. She plays fetch and tug of war with her person. She likes playing with one of the other larger dogs at her foster home. They run around chasing each other, wrestling and barking. It is however recommended that she not be left to play with smaller dogs. She wouldnât deliberately hurt the smaller dog but with her size and puppy exuberance an accident can happen in the blink of an eye. Evee is very smart. It only takes her a very short time to learn new things. She is house trained. Any of Eveeâs other behaviours are that of a large untrained puppy. Evee is still learning to walk on leash without her puppy excitement. She still likes to chew on things. She is learning the difference between chew toys and furniture. For some reason she does not like towels hanging on a rod. She will pull them down every chance she gets. She doesnât chew them just leaves them on the floor. She still needs a lot of supervision in the house. In her foster home she is doing well. Yes she still needs correcting but is learning daily. She knows she shouldnât jump up and does well most of the time. There are times when excitement takes over and she needs correcting. She unfortunately likes to bark. Some of her barking is excitement and some of it is from being scared. Evee is afraid of birds in a bush, and strong winds blowing the trees. She is trying hard to overcome her fears and is doing pretty well at it. She is a big girl and her wagging tail can dust the end tables in any home. She really would like to sleep with her person, but her size sometimes makes that impossible so she would settle for a comfy old couch or nice mat. No dog bed as she tends to chew the stuffing out of them. Her foster absolutely loves her and says she is one of the sweetest girls she has fostered. Her foster has been working with some success on getting Eveeâs training to the level it should be at for her age. Evee is looking for a home where her back yard is safe, secure and fairly large for her to run in. She would also like another larger active dog to play with. Above all she would like a family who will not just throw her into a crate but will teach her all the things she needs to learn to be the very best dog she can be. Further details on her behaviour can be discuss in detail with her foster. Evee deserves a chance at a happy life with a family of her own. If you think you have a loving home for Evee, with the time and patience to continue her training please submit an application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Evee is spayed, microchipped, up to date with her vaccinations, heartworm negative and is on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $350

Requirements: secure fenced yard with direct access to the yard, no small children, another playful dog of similar age We accept applications from Chatham Kent, London, Sarnia, Windsor or anywhere within these boundaries. Maggy Breed: Mixed Gender: Female Weight: 40 lbs. Age: 3 years Activity level: high Maggy is a wonderful, 3-year-old mixed breed (unknown) dog, full of life and love. In the few months living with a foster family she has come a long way in learning how to just be a dog. Maggy came from a kill shelter in Quebec, and has a mild anxiety or nervousness in new situations. She is working very hard on learning proper manners such as sit or come, and learning to walk with a halty or a leash. Her love of treats helps with this process, and is adorable when she dances for one. Maggy is a high energy dog, she loves to run at the dog park, so she will need a family who loves to be out and about. She leaps like a gazelle while running, with her tongue always flopping outside her mouth! She will always accept affection, and will let you love on her as much as you want. She is fully house trained, and eats well. Maggy would be at her best when incorporated into a home with another dog. She needs a playmate who can run and play and spend time with her, just being dogs She needed time and patience (and some correcting) to learn that she did not need to be anxious or nervous with the other dog in her foster home. She will now run and play with other dogs with very little correction needed. She gets along with cats, but will chase anything out in the yard. She has a fascination with anything up in the trees, and hopes to one day catch something. She is wonderful with older children. If you think you have a perfect home for Maggy please submit an application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Maggy is spayed, microchipped, up to date with her vaccinations, heartworm negative and is on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Requires: PERMANENT FOSTER HOME ONLY- a home with a secure, fenced yard, no children, must be another calm dog in the home We are only accepting applications from Chatham Kent Name of Foster Dog: Rico Breed: Chi Age: Unknown (6?) Sex: Male Colour: Tan with some white Length of fur (short, medium, long): short Size (small, medium, large): Extra Small Weight: Approx. 3 lbs Activity level (low, medium, high): Low Rico is extremely adorable but extremely timid. He is a sweet boy who is shy but loving. While not much of a cuddler, he loves to be on the same bed with you or his âPackâ. Rico will absolutely need another dog. Rico wants to be in the band, but just as the backup singer. Sitting close to the other dogs is what gives him comfort and he will need another dog who is calm and quiet. He does not like dogs who are hyper or in his face. He definitely leans to his fellow packmates and watches all they do and wants to be involved but not the centre of attention. Rico will claim, and sleep on, the largest dog bed in the house. He is very laid back and prefers to sleep and watch what is going on around. He does like a good hot day to suntan on the deck or concrete. This little guy will need a patient owner and inactive household. Any noise or chaos will scare him. He is not housetrained, he does not walk on leash, but he does well in the car. He will not need to be âwalkedâ, so just a nice back yard will suffice. We are looking to put Rico with a permanent foster, as he is definitely a dog who has specific needs. If you feel that you can provide Rico with all he needs, please fill out the application to foster on www.ckanimalrescue.com.

Willy is a very smart, friendly, sociable dog who just wants to be secure and loved. Other than his apparent disability, he is a totally normal dog. His biggest need is time to learn to trust, and a home where things are consistent. As soon as Willy knows the lay of the land, heâs all about just being a dog. He is mostly house trained, and if taken outside regularly, he wonât mess in the house. He has excellent hearing, so he will come to the sound of your voice or clapping, etc. He is quite confident, so we know heâs definitely adapted to his disability well. Mr. Bill loves to snuggle, and will need another calm dog to be with him. It seems to help him with his disability, and gives him company when left alone. He does play with small balls, and Iâm sure would love to have another pal to goof around with. He is a bit nervous in the car, so needs to be secured, but he will settle. He is not so happy when being groomed, but his foster is working with him on that. It will just take him some time to know that heâs safe, even when being brushed. These are anxieties that can be corrected with time and patience. Willy has anxiety, but once he knows he is safe and loved, he settles into a wonderful routine. Willy is such a sweet little guy, an absolute doll, he just needs that perfect home with consistency, company and, most of all, love! If you have the perfect, peaceful home for Mr Willy, please submit the adoption application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Willy is neutered, is up to date with vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on Revolution for flea and tick prevention. Requirements: a home with a secure, fenced yard with direct access from the home, no small children, no other pets in the home Applications are accepted from Chatham Kent, London, Sarnia, Windsor and any points within these boundaries. Name -Puppy Breed- Miniature Pincher Age- 8 +/- Sex- Male Colour-black and tan Length of fur- short Size- small Weight- 17 pounds Activity level - medium to high loves to sleep but when he is up and out he is high energy scooting everywhere Yes, this dogâs name is Puppy. ? Puppy is an adorable little fella who needs the right people who are patient and understand adjustment periods to help him feel at home. He is very friendly and very curious â he will explore every little nook and cranny everywhere he goes! He also enjoys his pats and scratches, loves to stretch his little body, and once heâs comfy, he loves the company of his humans. The wee little guy will need a home where he is the only fella. Heâs not comfortable with other animals, and he tends to be possessive about those he loves. He can be protective of his crate and toys and possibly with his food. Sadly we feel he wasnât taught to get along with others and share. If heâs not ready to come out of his crate, he will show you his grumpy side, so itâs apparent that this is a trigger for him. Someone patient and willing to work with him, will give him some time, and understands these behaviours are an absolute must for this darling. He seems to respond better to men, so even a couple with a man willing to be the âbossâ. Puppy is a great little dog, but as most of our fosters, he has his quirks. His foster family has been working diligently with him on learning some leash manners â heâs a puller! A harness is a must because heâs just SO darn excited to be out and about! Heâs mostly a quiet little fella, but will bark for treats, excitement, and when he needs to go out. If youâre a family who loves to be outdoors and run around, this is your match. Puppy loves to run, and heâs also quite a little escape artist, so an adopter who is very alert along with a secure, fenced yard is a must! Puppyâs favourite thing to do with toys is find the squeaky and remove it along with all the stuffing. Other than a dental which is being taken care of by the rescue, Puppy is a healthy little dude. He is anxious to find his forever home, and is waiting to hear from you!! If you think Puppy would fit right into your family, please submit the adoption application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Puppy is neutered, is up to date with his vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is on Revolution for flea and tick prevention. Adoption fee: $350
REQUIREMENTS: No dogs. We accept applications from Chatham-Kent, London, Sarnia, and Windsor. Declawing is not allowed. Meet Smokey! This beautiful girl is around one year old and is an absolute sweetheart. Found outside as a stray, she was brought inside by a loving family just before the weather got cold and was taken to CK Animal Rescue to foster. Smokey is a super friendly cat who, after her initial shyness, just wants love and to be around you. She is a total lap cat and will happily sit with you as long as she can. Smokey has a very quiet, gentle purr that comes out when sheâs truly relaxed, usually while on a lap getting cheek and head scratches. When sheâs feeling frisky, Smokey loves the laser pointer and shows off her fierce hunting meow as she tracks it down. She loves to play with strings and bat around catnip-filled toys. After playing, if thereâs no lap to sit on, Smokey enjoys hunkering down in the window to watch the birds and squirrels. Smokey doesnât like dogs and it is unknown whether she likes cats. She is a very gentle cat who would be great with children. After spending so much time alone outside, she is so excited to find her forever family and have a safe, warm place to spend her days. Smokey is scheduled to be spayed on January 28th and will be available for adoption once she has healed. She is up to date with vaccinations.
