Breed: black Shih Tzu mix Age: around 4 years old Weight: 15 lbs. Good with other dogs? yes Good with cats? yes Activity level: medium Buttermilk is an adorable little Shih Tzu. He is a friendly, happy, little guy. Buttermilk is cuddly, cute, and has a sweet disposition. He likes his stuffed squeaky toys, playing tug of war, and exploring the yard. Whether it is to watch TV, nap on the couch, go for walks, play with him on the floor, help with homework, anything as long as he is with his person. Butters has the cutest little habit of rooting around in the covers on the couch or bed. He will hide under the pillows and pop out to play with you. He has a puppy play stance that makes your heart melt. He loves wrestling with your hands. He thinks belly and ear rubs are the best. Car rides are fun too. He likes to ride around looking out the window. He is from the south and the snow is new to him but he does like it. Buttermilk is a good boy in the house and for this reason he is not crated. The vet did say that his eyesight is not as good as it should be. He has eye drops which will need to always be put in his eyes twice a day. He does not mind them. You would not know he has any problems with his eyes though. He can do stairs, and walks around his foster home like he owns the place. The only time his vision impairment is noticeable is if you throw his toy too far away from him. Then he has to use his nose to find the toy. His perfect forever home would be one where his yard is completely fenced to keep him safe. Someone who works short hours so he has his person or persons home a lot. He could have another dog friend but it is not a necessity if his person is home often. A family with respectful children to cuddle and play with is good too. Someone who is willing to put 1 drop of medicine in each eye twice a day and just love him for the rest of his life. This would make Butters very, very happy! If you think you can provide Buttermilk with a wonderful forever home, please submit an application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Buttermilk is housetrained, neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his shots. Adoption fee is $350.

Breed: Schipperke/Lab mix Age: 2 years old Weight: 35 lbs. Good with other dogs? yes Good with cats? yes Activity level: medium Lacon is an active, lovable and timid guy who enjoys running and playing in a secure fenced yard. He plays tug of war and is working on his fetching skills. Lacon has a lot of energy outside. He needs supervision as he finds it interesting to dig in the lawn trying to get the ants, bugs or ground moles. He behaves more calmly inside. He enjoys chew toys and chew bones so please make sure he has lots available. He is not good with stuffy toys as it only takes him minutes to tear them apart. Household noises still startle him so he needs time to adjust to them. Lacon does not need a crate because he has good house manners and is used to having free reign. He likes car rides, sits nicely on the back seat and watches out the window or curls up for a nap. He is generally quiet, will bark at unfamiliar noises or when people are arriving but quiets down when told. He has no food, treat or toy aggression. He likes dogs, cats, men, women and older respectful children. Lacon currently sleeps on the bed with his foster. He is very lovable and enjoys having his ears scratched. He takes a little time to really trust his people but when he does, he will be your friend for life. This handsome boy needs a secure fenced yard for running free, a person to throw the ball for him and play tug of war with him. He needs another active dog to chase and play tug of war when his person gets tired. Given love and patience, Lacon will thrive and help him to adjust to life in a real home! If you think you can provide Lacon with a wonderful forever home, please submit an application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Lacon is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his shots. Requirements: Cats from our rescue are never to be declawed. We can only accept applications from Chatham Kent, Windsor, Sarnia, London and points within these boundaries. Izzy is a beautiful 5-year-old black cat with a super sweet demeanor. Though shy and nervous when she first arrived at her foster home, she quickly purred up a storm, rolled over for some belly rubs, and curled up on a lap. She continues to be a bit nervous, especially around new people or people sheâs less familiar with, as well as with loud sounds. If she does get startled, sheâll sometimes seek out a spot to hide, usually under a bed or in a closet, but will come out if sheâs left alone for a few minutes. Although she has yet to officially meet the resident cats at her foster home, Izzy was with cats prior and there were no problems. She has seen and sniffed at the resident cats through a barrier and although there was initially hissing from both sides, that hissing has stopped. When she sees the cats, she walks away, rolls over, or turns her attention to a human for some affection. When she gets scared, Izzy may let out a growl or hiss, but she has never shown outward aggression with her foster family and is quick to calm down and start purring again. Izzy is currently being treated with eyedrops for an ulcer on her eye, which has been healing. At 13 pounds, she is also being put on a diet to help her slim down. She is being treated for a bladder infection but this will be cleared up before she is adopted. Izzy is looking for a home that will dote on her with love and affection and she will do the same in return. Sheâs a very affectionate cat who loves belly rubs, being brushed and being petted, and enjoys just being around her humans, especially on a lap. Izzy enjoys playing with small toy mice and dangling toys. She seeks out the comfiest spots to sleep, like a cushy cat bet or a stack of pillows, but also likes to have access to warm, enclosed sleeping spots like an open closet. Izzy is a quiet, wonderfully sweet girl who is looking for a happy home to spend her days. She is spayed and is up to date with her vaccinations. If you would like to provide a loving home for Izzy, just submit the adoption application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Adoption fee: $80
