NOTE: Only applications within Chatham Kent can be accepted as this will be a 'Foster to Adopt' program. MUST haves: Secure, fenced yard...no cats or small dogs...only kids 14+ Trey is a handsome 6 year old lab. Because he has never really lived in a home, we want to give him the best possible chance to adjust easily to a home situation. This boy deserves that chance! To do that, we will require his potential new foster to adopt family to visit him at the rescue office at least twice to become familiar. Trey is afraid of getting into a vehicle only because he has not been exposed to taking many road trips. Next step will be to bring him to his potential new home for a couple of visits before he stays to see how things go. Trey is very excited to meet people, he is a good boy. He knows his routine at the rescue office where he has lived for the past 2 years, he loves to run in the large fenced in area and sniff out the hiding spots for the squirrels and sniff out the trails of other wildlife. Being a lab, he does have a prey drive and loves the outdoors. He is also a big baby and likes the comfort of his space in the office too. Trey has worked hard to lose some weight as he was up to 70 lbs. He now weighs about 50 lbs., looks great and is very fit! This boy loves to run! He is ready to spread his wings and explore all that life has to offer! Trey loves to explore so his nose is to the ground every chance he gets! He loves attention and is a happy boy whose tail never stops wagging. To avoid chewing, only durable toys have been made available since flimsy stuffies are easily destroyed. If you love labs, are willing to provide lots of love, patience and further training and ultimately give Trey a great home, we want to hear from you!! Just submit the Adoption Application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Adoption fee: $350 Trey is neutered and is up to date with all his vaccinations.

We only accept applications from Chatham Kent, Sarnia, London, Windsor and points within these boundaries. Requirements: secure, fenced yard, no children under 10, no apartment, best as an only dog Breed: Bichon Sex: Male Age: 8 years Weight: 22 lbs. Size: Small Fur: Short, curly and non shedding Colour of fur: White with a bit of apricot Chucky is a sweet little fellow with a great appetite for life. He is very focused on his people and will nestle close to you indoors or out. Bonus...Chucky is a non shedder! He has excellent manners, is curious but respectful of his home, is housetrained, sleeps through the night, is not a door dasher, only barks to alert you of strangers or at the squirrels, appears to have no or little separation anxiety, knows sit and come commands and to top it all, travels well in cars. His foster family is working with him to reduce some rough house play. He can be possessive at times, but relaxes when given a little space.  Chucky is perfect on walks; he actually anticipates a change of direction by the slightest movement of the leash. He will play tug-of-war with his toys and loves meeting new people, especially if they have a scent of another animal on them. Being people orientated, he does not interact with other dogs very much and although he is curious about cats and tends to bark at them and run after them, he does not seem to want to hurt them. We do not know how he is with children. He does have a very loud bark, so no apartments for this boy. He has a bladder stone which is decreasing in size with special vet food - which he loves to eat. The best home for Chucky would be on his own, in a house with someone who happily indulges his love of walks and who will fuss over him. He could live with another, independent dog but does not need to. If you are interested in Chucky, just submit his application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Chucky is neutered, microchipped and up to date with his vaccinations. Adoption fee: $350

Pouchie has met many dogs of all sizes and gets along with many of them. He plays with the resident lab mix. Every day is running at full speed and they nap bum to bum together on the couch. He can be picky with who he chooses to buddy up to and spend his time so any meet and greet will determine if there is a love connection with this little guy. He loves to run and play chase with his canine friends, then settle together for a nap. Pouchie has a bit of food aggression...not with people but with other dogs so he is fed separately. Pouchie has not been exposed to cats. If you are interested in adopting our sweet Pouchie, please submit the Adoption Application at www.ckanimalrescue.com. Adoption fee is $350. REQUIREMENTS: Secure, fenced yard, not a highly active family Must live in Chatham Kent, Windsor, Sarnia, London or any points within these boundaries. Breed: Chihuahua Size: Small Weight: Age: 2 - 3 years Sex: Male and Female Colour: Fawn Length of Fur: Short Activity Level: Low Meet Alfie and Daisy! They are a bonded pair who are new to our rescue! Considering their background, it is amazing how they BOTH absolutely LOVE to CUDDLE! They were formerly used as breeders and were living outside in a barrel...a makeshift kennel...in filthy living conditions. Thankfully, they are now being lovingly fostered with our rescue and can look forward to being adopted to a home where they will be given the love, care and attention they deserve. They are opposite in their personalities, Daisy being timid and nervous and Alfie being confident and secure! Alfie is quite the talker and enjoys âtalkingâ by grunting, while Daisy is more of the quiet listener. Alfie and Daisy bark at new sounds, but quickly settle once they become accustomed to their environment. Both are cautious with other dogs, but after they adjust, they get along very well with other dogs. They like going for car rides and are well behaved passengers. Our dynamic duo love wresting with each other! It makes for great entertainment! After their play, however, they enjoy snuggling together on the couch with their people or canine friends. It is unknown how they feel about young children or cats. They especially enjoy basking in the sun to soak in the warmth. The best adoptive home for Alfie and Daisy would be a quiet home with an older family. They need a family who is patient with them while they adjust to their new environment together. If you are interested in adopting our sweet pair, please submit the Adoption Application at www.ckanimalrescue.com. Adoption fee for this pair is $650. Both dogs are microchipped, neutered/spayed and up to date with their vaccinations.

Requirements for Cooper: secure, fenced yard, double door in front to avoid escape, active adult only home, no other dogs in the home, door leading directly to the backyard We accept applications from Chatham Kent, Windsor, Sarnia, London and any points within these boundaries. Cooper is a very funny, little, super cute 3 year old Pomeranian guy who is very high energy! He spins with excitement to go outside for a run. He LOVES being outside in a secure yard so is not suited for apartment living. He also enjoys going for walks...he knows a vehicle represents going for a ride. Cooper is a good little passenger, is quiet and enjoys the sights. He came from a situation where he was with an elderly owner who could no longer care for him and he found himself in a kill shelter. He was not taken care of with his grooming so he was suffering from severe matting on his bum and back area which caused him to be in pain resulting in him being labelled as a biter. After his visit to the vet where he was sedated to remove this horrible matting, he turned into the most happy, little guy with plenty of kisses to share. He loves his life again! While Cooper gets along fine with other dogs and cats, he loves his own company and would like to be the love of an adopter's life! Cooper loves toys, he can spend time rolling and playing with a pile of toys. Squeaky ones seem to be his favourite! He is a very fast, high energy little guy who is also a door dasher and high risk for escaping if given the chance. Priority will be given to adopters who are extremely safety conscious. If little Cooper sounds like a fit for you, please submit an application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Cooper is neutered, microchipped and up to date with his vaccinations. Adoption fee: $350

Requirements: a home with a secure, fenced yard, only children 12+ years old, no cats We accept applications from Chatham Kent, Windsor, Sarnia, London and any points within these boundaries. Pug mix Neutered male 7 years old Blonde 35 lbs. If you are looking for a truly adaptable companion, look no further than Lebear. While he loves hanging around with his family at home and doing very little (he will happily allow you to give him belly rubs), he also likes being active - such as going on walks and riding with you in the car.  Lebear gets along with other dogs. He is sometimes a little possessive around food, so it would be wise to keep an eye on him if he shares his home with another dog. As far as cats go, Lebear might be too keen for the liking of any cat as he does tend to chase. We know that he gets on well with teens and feel he is probably fine with older children, but we do not know how he would be with young children. A good home for Lebear would be one where he could enjoy lots of attention and be included in many activities with the family. If you are looking for a loving companion like Lebear, please submit his application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Lebear is neutered, microchipped, up to date with vaccinations and is on Revolution for flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Requirements: large, secure, fenced yard with direct access from the house, another dog of similar size, energy level and age, only children over 10, NO other small animals recommended, No apartments, Experience with the shepherd breed. We accept applications from Chatham Kent, London, Sarnia, Windsor or anywhere within these boundaries. German Shepherd Female Born in July, 2018 Around 75 lbs. Up to date on vaccines Better not to have cats Rides well in the car Are you looking for a dog who is all puppy? Evee is a very young, sweet, big girl who was not taught much during the first few months of her life. After that, she was crated to eliminate the need for training. Once introduced, she likes most people and shows it with kisses. She loves attention and belly rubs. She also likes her back scratched, ears rubbed, talked to and cuddled. Evee is young and has lots of energy. Like any puppy, she gets bored easily. Please remember boredom can cause a dog to be destructive. She adores being outside and running around in a secure, fenced yard. She plays fetch and tug of war with her person and also likes playing with a larger dog at her foster home. They run around chasing each other, wrestling and barking. It is however recommended that she not be left to play with smaller dogs. She would not deliberately hurt the smaller dog but with her size and puppy exuberance, an accident could happen in the blink of an eye. Evee is very smart so it only takes her a very short time to learn new things. She is house trained. Any other behaviours are that of a large, untrained puppy. Evee is still learning to walk on leash without her puppy excitement. She still likes to chew on things. She is learning the difference between chew toys and furniture. For some reason, she does not like towels hanging on a rod. She will pull them down every chance she gets. She does not chew them, just leaves them on the floor. She still needs a lot of supervision in the house. She still gets excited and will jump up on you. She knows she should not jump up and does well most of the time. There are times when excitement takes over and she needs correcting. In her foster home, she is doing well. Yes she still needs correcting but is learning daily. She likes to bark when excited but it too is getting under control. She is a big girl and her wagging tail can dust the end tables in any home. She really would like to sleep with her person, but her size sometimes makes that impossible so she would settle for a comfy, old couch or nice mat.....no dog bed as she tends to chew the stuffing out of them. Evee is one of the sweetest girls, just untrained. Her foster has been working with some success on getting Eveeâs training to the level it should be at for her age. Evee is looking for a home where her backyard is safe, secure and fairly large for her to run in. She would also like another larger, active dog to play with. Above all, she would like a family who will not just throw her into a crate but will teach her all the things she needs to learn to be the very best dog she can be. Further details on her behaviour are welcomed to be discussed with her foster. Evee deserves a chance at a happy life with a very patient family of her own. If you think you have a loving home for Evee, with the time and patience to continue her training, please submit her application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Evee is spayed, microchipped, up to date with her vaccinations, heartworm negative and is on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $400

She loves being with her person watching a movie or working on the computer. She is house trained. No crates for this little girl, she has had enough of them during her lifetime.
