REQUIREMENTS: Secure, fenced yard, another small dog in the home, no young children Breed : Long Haired Chihuahua Age : 5-6 years Sex : Female Colour : Black and tan Length of fur: Long Size: Small Weight: 10 lbs. Holly is an adorable little long haired chihuahua. Her life was that as a breeder dog who was housed in a crate. Being in a foster home has been a big change for her but she is adjusting very well. She is getting used to new things like a harness and a leash. Going for walks was also a new experience but she is learning that these outings are really fun. Holly can be shy when she meets new people. Given time to adjust to her new surroundings, Holly warms up and her true loving personality comes out. She now loves getting belly rubs and cuddling on the couch with a favourite human. This sweet girl is used to being around other small dogs, so she would be happiest in a home where she will have canine companionship. Holly does not really pay attention to cats, so she will not mind having them around if her new home has one or two. Because Holly is so small and can be shy, she needs a home with a small dog(s) and only older respectful children. Holly does have a heart murmur, but this does not stop her from running around the yard and enjoying her walks. Holly can be a little door dasher so her new owner needs a plan to keep her safe when people are coming and going. He would rather soak up their attention than share it with another dog. He can run and play with other dogs but when it comes to quality time at home, he prefers to be the only dog. He also likes children but being an energetic, medium sized boy, it is best that he only be with kids who are 10 or older. Butch enjoys playing with stuffies or having a game of fetch. A gentle soul, Chi Chi does have a Grade 4 heart murmur and only 40-50% of her vision left due to cataracts. Minor adjustments, such as keeping her food dishes in one spot would be a way to keep her as independent as possible. The ideal home for Chi Chi would be a home where the adopter is retired. She does relish in sometimes jumping on an end table, cedar chest, etc. therefore for her own safety she needs training and supervision to avoid any possible accident. She also needs a secure fence to keep her safe, a sedate lifestyle and a handy lap for her to curl up near! She is spayed, microchipped and is up to date with her vaccinations. NOTE: Volunteers travel to homes so we can only accept Adoption Applications from Chatham Kent, Windsor, Sarnia, London and points within these boundaries. Cats are never to be declawed. Pocahontas (or âPocaâ) is a super sweet and playful 3-year-old girl. Initially, she was very shy and nervous, but her purr was non-stop and she was seeking a lot of affection. Her personality has really started to shine as she has become more comfortable. She loves to play, mainly with dangling toys, and she loves scratching cardboard scratchers. Being a big fan of treats, she gets very excited when she hears the bag! When she is feeling affectionate, she likes to take your hand with her paw, push it to the floor, and rub her head on it and roll around. If you are not paying attention to her, she will gently tap you with her paw to get your attention. She loves being petted, especially on her head, cheeks, and along her back. Although she is not a lap cat, she likes to be nearby and will start purring the moment you start paying attention to her. She is slightly overweight, but that is easily managed with timed meals and a weight-loss food. She is very active when she is frisky and loves to run around, so playtime and exercise is helping. Poca would be happy to have a cat she can befriend. Although nervous of them at first, she has become friends with the resident cats she is being fostered with. She has lots of energy and enjoys running around and playing with the other cats. Poca is a very inquisitive cat who likes to explore- she discovered the crawl space within the first few days and learned how to pull the door open. She is a total sweetheart and would be a wonderful addition to any home. If you are interested in adopting Poca, please submit the Adoption Application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Adoption fee: $80 Pocahontas is spayed and up to date with her vaccinations.

She is a 10 year old Shih Tzu who, like some of us, is trying to lose a bit of weight! She is extremely clean (no mess in the house and does not shed). She redefines watch dog as she will stop and watch someone or something intently (without doing anything!). She walks, if encouraged, but rarely above first gear.
