Size: Small Fur: Short, curly and non shedding Colour of fur: White with a bit of apricot Chucky is a sweet little fellow with a great appetite for life. He is very focused on his people and will nestle close to you indoors or out. Bonus...Chucky is a non shedder! He has excellent manners, is curious but respectful of his home, is housetrained, sleeps through the night, is not a door dasher, only barks to alert you of strangers or at the squirrels, appears to have no or little separation anxiety, knows sit and come commands and to top it all, travels well in cars. He can be possessive at times, but relaxes when given a little space. Chucky is perfect on walks; he actually anticipates a change of direction by the slightest movement of the leash. He will play tug-of-war with his toys and loves meeting new people, especially if they have a scent of another animal on them. Being people orientated, he does not interact with other dogs very much and although he is curious about cats and tends to bark at them and run after them, he does not seem to want to hurt them. REQUIREMENTS: Any children must be 5+. We accept applications from Chatham-Kent. Declawing is not allowed. Meet Alice! This beautiful girl is around eight years old and has such a sweet, gentle soul. Saved from euthanasia, this kitty is living the good life in her foster home and loving every minute of it. Alice is very sweet and cuddly - she loves to snuggle up on the couch with her foster family. If no one is around to cuddle, she likes to find a cardboard box to sleep in. She likes to play, her favourite toys being small toy mice and dangling strings. She loves to be brushed and can never turn down a good chin scratch. When company comes over, Alice loves to be front and centre for some pets and attention. Everyone who meets her quickly falls in love! Alice weighs around 20lbs and needs a family that can help her shed some weight through diet and playtime. Due to her size, she needs a little bit of extra help to keep herself clean, which is very quick and easy and something Alice is appreciative of! Alice is looking for a home where she can get plenty of playtime and love, and one that will help her lose some weight. She is currently being fostered with four other cats with no issues, and although she would likely be happiest being the only cat (she loves the attention to be on her!) she would also be fine with another friendly cat. She would be happiest with no dogs. This sweet girl will make a wonderful addition to someoneâs home. She is looking for a special family that will help her get in shape so she can live the long, healthy life that she deserves, and in return she will show you unconditional love. Alice is spayed and up to date with vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting Alice, please submit the Adoption Application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Adoption fee: $80
NOTE: Applications are accepted from Chatham Kent, London, Sarnia, Windsor and any points within these boundaries. MUST HAVE: a secure fenced yard, no children under 10 years, a home with another playful dog. Breed: Shih Tzu Size: Small Weight: 12.9 lbs Age: 3 years Sex: Male Colour: White and Red Length of Fur: Medium Activity: Medium Introducing Pouchie! He is a very happy little boy who absolutely loves to play! He is nervous when meeting new people and takes a bit of time to warm up, but once he gets to know you, he is quite comfortable. He will snuggle on his own terms, he is an independent little guy. Pouchie loves walks and car rides, sitting calmly on the seat enjoying the scenery. He loves to run and chew on ropes, bones and any stuffed toy. He is a playful little one! He would enjoy someone who is often home as he loves attention and he needs to have another young playful dog he connects with to enjoy those high energy playtimes. Pouchie feels he needs to protect his foster family so he is learning that is not acceptable behaviour to growl at people walking by. This is a work in progress. Pouchie has met many dogs of all sizes and gets along with many of them. He plays with the resident lab mix. Every day is running at full speed and they nap bum to bum together on the couch. He can be picky with who he chooses to buddy up to and spend his time so any meet and greet will determine if there is a love connection with this little guy. He loves to run and play chase with his canine friends, then settle together for a nap. Pouchie has a bit of food aggression...not with people but with other dogs so he is fed separately. Pouchie has not been exposed to cats. If you are interested in adopting our sweet Pouchie, please submit the Adoption Application at www.ckanimalrescue.com. Adoption fee is $350. Pouchie is microchipped, neutered and up to date with his vaccinations.

Arian has a purr like a motorboat, and it seems like it never stops! Sable is missing her left eye. It has no issues other than needing to be wiped clean occasionally. It does not hinder her quality of life in any way. Arian has a slight scratch on the surface of her right eye. It does not seem to hinder her vision and should not require any treatment. Requirements for Cooper: secure, fenced yard, double door in front to avoid escape, active adult only home, no other dogs in the home, door leading directly to the backyard We accept applications from Chatham Kent, Windsor, Sarnia, London and any points within these boundaries. Cooper is a very funny, little, super cute 3 year old Pomeranian guy who is very high energy! He spins with excitement to go outside for a run. He LOVES being outside in a secure yard so is not suited for apartment living. He also enjoys going for walks...he knows a vehicle represents going for a ride. Cooper is a good little passenger, is quiet and enjoys the sights. He came from a situation where he was with an elderly owner who could no longer care for him and he found himself in a kill shelter. He was not taken care of with his grooming so he was suffering from severe matting on his bum and back area which caused him to be in pain resulting in him being labelled as a biter. After his visit to the vet where he was sedated to remove this horrible matting, he turned into the most happy, little guy with plenty of kisses to share. He loves his life again! While Cooper gets along fine with other dogs and cats, he loves his own company and would like to be the love of an adopter's life! Cooper loves toys, he can spend time rolling and playing with a pile of toys. Squeaky ones seem to be his favourite! He is a very fast, high energy little guy who is also a door dasher and high risk for escaping if given the chance. Priority will be given to adopters who are extremely safety conscious. If little Cooper sounds like a fit for you, please submit an application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Cooper is neutered, microchipped and up to date with his vaccinations. Adoption fee: $350

Requirements: large, secure, fenced yard with direct access from the house, another dog of similar size, energy level and age, only children over 10, NO other small animals recommended, No apartments, Experience with the shepherd breed. We accept applications from Chatham Kent, London, Sarnia, Windsor or anywhere within these boundaries. German Shepherd Female Born in July, 2018 Around 75 lbs. Up to date on vaccines Better not to have cats Rides well in the car Are you looking for a dog who is all puppy? Evee is a very young, sweet, big girl who was not taught much during the first few months of her life. After that, she was crated to eliminate the need for training. Once introduced, she likes most people and shows it with kisses. She loves attention and belly rubs. She also likes her back scratched, ears rubbed, talked to and cuddled. Evee is young and has lots of energy. Like any puppy, she gets bored easily. Please remember boredom can cause a dog to be destructive. She adores being outside and running around in a secure, fenced yard. She plays fetch and tug of war with her person and also likes playing with a larger dog at her foster home. They run around chasing each other, wrestling and barking. It is however recommended that she not be left to play with smaller dogs. She would not deliberately hurt the smaller dog but with her size and puppy exuberance, an accident could happen in the blink of an eye. Evee is very smart so it only takes her a very short time to learn new things. She is house trained. Any other behaviours are that of a large, untrained puppy. Evee is still learning to walk on leash without her puppy excitement. She still likes to chew on things. She is learning the difference between chew toys and furniture. For some reason, she does not like towels hanging on a rod. She will pull them down every chance she gets. She does not chew them, just leaves them on the floor. She still needs a lot of supervision in the house. She still gets excited and will jump up on you. She knows she should not jump up and does well most of the time. There are times when excitement takes over and she needs correcting. In her foster home, she is doing well. Yes she still needs correcting but is learning daily. She likes to bark when excited but it too is getting under control. She is a big girl and her wagging tail can dust the end tables in any home. She really would like to sleep with her person, but her size sometimes makes that impossible so she would settle for a comfy, old couch or nice mat.....no dog bed as she tends to chew the stuffing out of them. Evee is one of the sweetest girls, just untrained. Her foster has been working with some success on getting Eveeâs training to the level it should be at for her age. Evee is looking for a home where her backyard is safe, secure and fairly large for her to run in. She would also like another larger, active dog to play with. Above all, she would like a family who will not just throw her into a crate but will teach her all the things she needs to learn to be the very best dog she can be. Further details on her behaviour are welcomed to be discussed with her foster. Evee deserves a chance at a happy life with a very patient family of her own. If you think you have a loving home for Evee, with the time and patience to continue her training, please submit her application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Evee is spayed, microchipped, up to date with her vaccinations, heartworm negative and is on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $400

If she is not allowed on the couch she will lay at your feet making sure she is touching them, or place her head on your lap and have you lightly pet her head. REQUIREMENTS: No children, no dogs. We accept applications from Chatham-Kent. Declawing is not allowed. Meet Gabby! This beautiful kitty is six years old and is looking for her forever home. She is a nervous kitty by nature, but through persistence and love, her foster family has watched her blossom and make huge strides in becoming a happier and more confident cat. Gabby absolutely loves to play and can usually be found racing around the house, batting whatever she can get her paws on. She loves to play with string toys and crinkly balls, but her favourite toy is the laser pointer - she is forever trying to catch the red dot! Because of Gabby's nervous nature, she is very wary of strangers and often greets them with a hiss and runs away. Despite the hisses, Gabby is a very gentle cat and is all bark and no bite. She acts tough but she's just nervous. It took Gabby time to stop hissing at her foster family, but once they gained her trust and she knew she was safe, she began to feel relaxed and now greets them at the door and can always be found nearby. Gabby likes to be held and enjoys a lap to cuddle on. When sheâs feeling affectionate, she flops down and rolls over to get a belly rub. She absolutely loves to be brushed. Gabby is looking for an adult-only home with an experienced cat owner who will give her time to acclimate to her new surroundings. She would prefer no dogs or young children. She is currently being fostered with four other cats with no issues, so a friendly cat would be fine with her, but she would be just as happy on her own. If given the chance, Gabby will be a wonderful companion for a very lucky family. Gabby is spayed and up to date with vaccinations. Shih Tzu Neutered male 9 years old 24 lbs. Long hair Medium activity level Good with other dogs good with cats Good with adults and older children Has some hearing loss due to ear infections and neglect Bandit is a real sweetheart! He is very easy going and his biggest wish is to just hang out. He gets along with other dogs, and has no issues with cats. He enjoys strolling along for a walk checking out some new smells along the way. He doesnât seem to have much interest in toys, he just enjoys the simple things in life - being your buddy! Requirements: a home with a secure, fenced yard We accept applications from Chatham Kent, Sarnia, London, Windsor and any points within these boundaries. Name of foster dog: Olivia Breed: Poodle Age: 11 Sex: Female Colour: Silver Length of fur: Medium (No Shedding) Size: Small Weight if known:10lbs Meet gorgeous Olivia! Check out this pretty girl with her silver fur, with the black accents on her back! As an older, small dog, Olivia is shy at first but it doesnât take her long to warm up to everyone she meets. She is very easy going and is totally housebroken. She is a wonderful listener, and is great with dogs and other animals. Olivia is a low energy dog, but does love to run around for short bursts when outside in the yard or field. Yet, of course, she loves to cuddle on the couch. She would make a great companion for a family who is a bit more slow paced, but will still give her some daily exercise. Olivia has bounced around a lot throughout her life, so she definitely needs a forever home to settle into and be cherished. She is just a love bug who deserves some permanence. Olivia does have arthritis â her foster feeds her a glucosamine tablet and she is doing great with it. She also has a cataract in her left eye, but that doesnât slow her down any! If you think you have a loving home for Olivia, please submit her application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Olivia is spayed, microchipped, up to date with her vaccinations, heartworm negative and is on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Requirements: a home with a secure, fenced yard, can be with older, respectable children ages 8 and up We accept applications from Chatham Kent, Sarnia, London, Windsor and any points within these boundaries. Name of foster dog: Rosie Breed: Shih-Tzu Age: 12 Sex: Female Colour: White and Grey Length of fur: Medium Size: Small Weight if known:12lbs Activity Level: Low Rosie, the beauty, is looking for a forever home that can meet her needs as an older pup. She is very independent, even with her issues as she ages. She needs an adopter who will be patient and loving, and give her time to get to know her surroundings. Rosie tends to be shy at first, but will warm up with time. She shows some playfulness when sheâs grown used to you. Rosie can be interested in what youâre up to and will follow you around, but can also be nonchalant. She is happy being the sole furry occupant in the house, but can also be integrated into a family with other animals. She makes her wishes known when itâs time for food or to go outside, but other than that is pretty chill. Rosie is aging, so she seems to have stiff joints. She can climb stairs, but coming back down is a no-go. She will need ramps and assistance and is taking an Omega daily to help those poor joints. She has lost some hearing and sight, but that doesnât stop her. She will respond to clapping, snapping fingers, or a deeper male voice â but can startle easily with loud noises. She also has no top teeth, so soft food is a must. Rosie also isnât fond of grooming, so will need some help learning to desensitize to that (she will get nippy, but is not a biter). Rosie loves the car, but only if able to sit on her own â she objects strenuously to crating. She also loves a walk, but definitely at her own pace, sheâs slowing down with her years. Rosie would love a family who will let her go easy, and allow her to rest and relax for her time. She needs people who understand her and love her to pieces. If you think you have a loving home for Rosie, please submit her application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Rosie is spayed, microchipped, up to date with her vaccinations, heartworm negative and is on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. Adoption fee is $250
REQUIREMENTS: adult only home with no other pets, secure fenced yard We accept applications from Chatham Kent, London, Windsor, Sarnia and all points within these boundaries. MIKAELA 10 year old Maltese mix Small 9.7 lbs. Short, white, curly fur...sheds slightly No problem being groomed or having nails trimmed Medium activity level Unknown how she gets along with cats After her owner passed away in Quebec, Mikaela was surrendered to a high kill shelter as no family members were able to keep her. Accustomed to life as a beloved family pet, she was understandably very scared in the shelter. This sweet little girl is happiest when napping on a lap but also enjoys being in the yard or lying on the deck in the sun. She is friendly and is happy to greet people with tail a wagging. Mikaela has bonded with the husband in her foster home...loves lying with him on his recliner and feels she has sole possession of his lap. She likes it when you talk to her, loves to go for walks, handles well on leash and comes when you call her. She sometimes likes to lie on the blanket in her open crate. She initially barks on car rides and takes awhile to settle down. She is assertive- knows what she wants but she is a charming little senior. She has generally good health. This little girl becomes very anxious in thunderstorms but is comforted when held. If Mikaela sounds like a dog you can welcome into your home, please submit the adoption application at www.ckanimalrescue.com Adoption fee: $250 Mikaela is spayed, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations.

Requires: a home with a secure, fenced yard, must be the only pet in the home, can be with respectful children ages 12+ We are accepting applications from Chatham Kent ONLY Name: Buddy Breed: Lab Age: 10 years Gender: Male Colour: blonde Size: Small Weight: 70lbs Activity level: low Our buddy Buddy is looking for a permanent foster home in the Chatham-Kent area. Buddy is a senior blonde lab who needs a calm, peaceful home to live out his senior years. Buddy sleeps a lot, and just likes to rest. He pulls hard on a leash, so a good yard to wander around in is more than enough. He will play fetch or tug-a-war, but tires easily. A good long nap in the sun is something he deserves. He loves car rides, so if you want to make his day, thatâs the ticket. Buddy does have a health issue that will eventually take him to the rainbow bridge, but we cannot predict when. This is why we will foster him permanently, and let him live out his life quietly and restfully. He deserves the best life possible until that happens. He does take medicine, but itâs a chewable and he has no issues with it. Buddy needs to be the only animal in the home, as heâs just an old guy who wants peace. Buddy is a sweet fella who loves snuggles and pets, but will react with a growl if heâs startled. Buddy is neutered, microchipped, up to date with his vaccinations, heartworm negative and is on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. If you want to give Buddy a permanent foster home, please fill out the application form on www.ckanimalrescue.com.
Requires: a home with a secure, fenced yard, could be with respectful children 12+ years old We accept applications from Chatham Kent, Sarnia, London, Windsor and any points within these boundaries. Name: Riley Breed: Shih Tzu Age: 4 years Gender: Male Colour: White with grey patches Length of fur: Medium Size: Small Weight: 13lbs Activity level: medium Riley is a 4 year old Shih Tzu boy. He's a bit shy initially but quickly warms up and shows his true personality. He's energetic outside and loves to chase squirrels and bark at them, while indoors he enjoys long naps by his person. That is until he's ready to play with his toys and then the squeakier they are the better! He tosses them all over the place and likes to have a collection of them in his bed too! Riley gets along with other dogs and would do best with another friendly, young dog in the home. We are unsure about other small animals, such as cats. He's been through a lot of changes recently but is adapting well and quickly gets attached to his people. He's often looking out the window for his foster to come home and gives her an over the top welcome home when she comes in the door that often includes bringing her a shoe! Riley is respectful of the home but is rough with his toys. He spends the night sleeping on the foster's bed and doesn't make a peep until morning. Riley weights 13 pounds and is a happy, affectionate boy! Riley is neutered, microchipped, up to date with his vaccinations, heartworm negative and is on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. If you think Riley should join your family, please fill out the application form on www.ckanimalrescue.com. Adoption fee is $350
Requires: a home with a secure, fenced yard, no children, must be another calm dog in the home We are only accepting applications from Chatham Kent Name of Foster Dog: Rico Breed: Chi Age: Unknown (6?) Sex: Male Colour: Tan with some white Length of fur (short, medium, long): short Size (small, medium, large): Extra Small Weight: Approx. 3 lbs Activity level (low, medium, high): Low Rico is extremely adorable but extremely timid. He is a sweet boy who is shy but loving. While not much of a cuddler, he loves to be on the same bed with you or his âPackâ. Rico will absolutely need another dog. Rico wants to be in the band, but just as the backup singer. Sitting close to the other dogs is what gives him comfort and he will need another dog who is calm and quiet. He does not like dogs who are hyper or in his face. He definitely leans to his fellow packmates and watches all they do and wants to be involved but not the centre of attention. Rico will claim, and sleep on, the largest dog bed in the house. He is very laid back and prefers to sleep and watch what is going on around. He does like a good hot day to suntan on the deck or concrete. This little guy will need a patient owner and inactive household. Any noise or chaos will scare him. He is not housetrained, he does not walk on leash, but he does well in the car. He will not need to be âwalkedâ, so just a nice back yard will suffice. We are looking to put Rico with a permanent foster, as he is definitely a dog who has specific needs. If you feel that you can provide Rico with all he needs, please fill out the application to foster on www.ckanimalrescue.com.
Requires: a home with a secure, fenced yard, no children, no other dogs We are only accepting applications from Chatham-Kent Name: Pete Breed: Pekinese Age: 12 years Gender: Male Colour: White Length of fur: Long Size: Small Weight: 12lbs Activity level: low Pete is a real sweetheart. A simple guy, who just loves the simple things in life â food, treats, hanging out, soaking up the sun. He doesnât even need a toy, just your company! Pete is a senior fella who had a good home for a while, but changes made it so we need to find him just one more wonderful home for his senior years. That means he needs an adult only home, no small children, as heâs just a slow and steady guy and needs some peace and quiet. He will also need to be the only dog in the home, and heâs a bit grumpy around others. He seems fine with cats, and other small animals. As he can be a little escape artist, he does need to be supervised when outside. Even with a fenced in yard, he has a nose for finding escape routes! He is also a little ball of fur, so regular grooming will be necessary to keep that hair-do in check, and has no issues with being pampered. Pete is neutered, microchipped, up to date with his vaccinations, heartworm negative and is on flea, tick and heartworm prevention. If you think you could be a permanent foster for Pete, please fill out the application form on www.ckanimalrescue.com.
