Chatham, Kent Animal Rescue does NOT receive any municipal or government funding. Our rescue depends on donations and fundraising events to pay for the vetting care of the animals in our rescue, rent, insurance and supplies. No one is paid; we are 100% volunteer based. Your generous Donations provide the following:
- Rescue & rehabilitation of local unwanted animals being surrendered as well as animals who are on death row in high kill shelters
- Vetting care for all animals in our foster program – spay/neuter, heartworm testing, vaccinations, tests for tick disease, fecal tests, flea & heartworm prevention, dentals, medications, x-rays, bloodwork (as needed)
- Emergency costs for injuries and serious illness
- Supports the health of our seniors and disabled animals in long term foster care
