Photo Shoot – Saturday, January 15, 2012

Thanks to Patricia from Patricia M. Productions in Chatham for inviting our rescues to be in their recent photo shoot with several of their gorgeous young models!  These young ladies were unaware that their accessories for their photo shoot were going to be a few of our rescues….who were all full of love and happy to participate!  The hearts of everyone there soon melted once the dogs arrived with their wagging tails.

We would like to thank our volunteers and foster families for taking the time out of their weekend to meet the models and bring the dogs for the photo shoot.  And we want to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Patricia for contacting us to be involved with your photo shoot!  We hope to be invited back to do it again….soon!

Enjoy a few pictures from the day

UPDATE: Thanks to  Katie Watson and Anne and Blake of Outhouse Image & Design, CK Animal Rescues float placed in third place for non-commercial float!

Thank you also to all the volunteers, fosters and supporters who came to show their supports, everyone had a wonderful time.

We were invited to attend the Howl O’Ween party at the Chatham Dog Park on Saturday, October 29/11.  The weather was a gorgeous fall day, the sun was out, leaves on the ground and many happy dogs were bouncing around, running, playing and one four legged visitor at the park found a nice big puddle of mud to lay down and relax!  Needless to say, everyone scattered when this big buddy dog came barrelling around the park to shake off the mud!

Our table was set up with volunteer and foster forms, flyers, handouts, treats for the poochies who stopped by to see what we had for them – Cinnatreats were a huge hit!  We had several repeat four legged visitors.

Everyone had a great time, we look forward to doing it again! Thanks to everyone who came out with their dogs to enjoy the day!

Our foster, Chuckles, who came dressed up as a boxer won Scariest Costume – congratulations Chuckles!

Wilson, our little shih/poo foster came dressed as a bumble bee and was loved by everyone he ran up to greet.

Ginger, our pretty brindle puppy, came as a dancer with her little silky slip.  Poor girl needed help to keep her skirt pulled up most of the time!

Enjoy a few pics from the day

We want to take this time to give special thanks to Anne and Blake at Outhouse Image & Design for doing so much for our rescue!  They have generously donated our banners, magnets and small handouts since we first began.  Their support is amazing and there are not enough words to say how much we appreciate everything they have done for our organization.

In 2010, they were one of the first adopters when the idea of starting a rescue first came about.  They met Buxton (then called Wade from Missouri) and fell in love with this guy from the first day they met him.  Buxton is the official greeter at the South Buxton Raceway.  He enjoys watching the races with the spectators sitting in the stands, wading around in the huge pond on the property and has met a lot of friends since joining Anne and Blake’s family.

This year, they have again offered their generosity and assistance to help design a float for CK Animal Rescue to participate in the 2011 Chatham Christmas Parade in November.  They will be working with one of our newest volunteers, Katie Watson.  They have come up with some wonderful ideas that we are all excited to participate in and see the final rescue miracle on wheels this year.

Thank you both for having faith in our mission to save our dogs who would otherwise have no chance,.  It’s because of the caring hearts of Anne and Blake along with so many volunteers and our foster families that we have come so far since the beginning of 2011.  We will be forever grateful!

Please support the fine work of Outhouse Image & Design and tell them thanks!  Visit their webpage!

We were recently contacted by Nicole St-Onge of NCS Photography offering her service as a photographer to help with updating pictures of our rescues.  Of course, we are thrilled to work with Nicole!

Nicole is a Furtographer.

What is a Furtographer?  We’ll let Nicole explain it in her own words…..

You know that special bonding people have with their pets?  And how so often the four-legged members of our families are treated just like our children!

Wouldn’t it be great if your furkids were also able to have their portrait taken so you could proudly display it your on wall right next to all your other family photos?

At NCS Pet Photography, we have the best job in the world!  We’re the ones who create those beautiful wall portraits of your furbabies!

We are Furtographers, and photographing your furkids is our speciality!

Visit Nicole’s NCS Photography webpage to see her amazing work!

We had a busy weekend with the arrival of 14 new faces to our rescue this past weekend (October 16, 2011).  Our foster families were patiently waiting for the vehicles to arrive and anxiously anticipating meeting their new rescues.  There were many smiles and hugs when the dogs put their feet on the ground in Chatham Kent for the first time.  It was a wonderful day and another successful trip.  Everyone made it safe and sound.

Visit our Facebook wall (CK Animal Rescue) to see the pictures of this great day!

Everyone with CK Animal Rescue extend our sincerest thanks to Tammy and Brent with Betty Brite Cleaners for inviting us to host a BBQ at their recent Grand Re-Opening on Saturday, October 1, 2011. You made us all feel so welcome!  We appreciate your kindness, support and big hearts for giving us the opportunity to share your special day with you!

While the weather may not have started off sunny and warm as we had all hoped, it was still a wonderful day!  The sun was shining above those dark clouds and finally made an appearance by mid morning.  Everyone braved the colder temperature for a great cause….our rescues!

The BBQ was fired up to provide lunch for everyone who stopped by to meet us,  several beautiful dogs and their two legged companions came to get their nails trimmed (Tina – CR Pets Grooming Salon) or have their picture taken with a cute fall setting complete with straw, fall mums and pumpkin.  We had a rep with Nature’s Variety (FREE coupon offer on webpage) on hand to provide samples of cat and dog food as well as coupons.

We would like to thank Chris McLeod from CKSY FM radio for doing a great job of helping get the word out about this fundraising event.

Tina with CR Pets Grooming Salon, who provided the nail trimming, is continuing her great offer for the month of October!  $10.00 off full grooms only from OCTOBER 1st to 31st 2011. Offer is 1 per household.   Call Tina to schedule an appointment by calling 519-365-1438 (leave a message).  Tina will also do house calls for customers who have problems with transportation.

We are planning a Pretty Pets fundraising event very SOON where you can bring in your pets to have their picture taken –  Watch our Latest News page for more details or Subscribe to our Newsletter to receive ALL the latest news on upcoming fundraisers and incoming rescues!

Mother Nature cooperated on Sunday, September 25, 2011 for our photo shoot for our upcoming fundraising calendar.  It was a wonderful day, new friendships were made, along with everyone sharing one common bond….the love of animals.
